Can I get the package delivered at a different address?
Yes. You can indicate at which address you want the Metalbird to be delivered when placing the order.
Can I have the order gift-wrapped?
The metalbirds come gift-wrapped at no extra costs. You do have to indicate ‘gift wrapping’ when ordering though.
How do I attach the metalbirds?
A hammer and a stool is all your need. There is a sharp point at the end of the branch the bird is sitting on. A few taps with the hammer and your bird is attached to the tree or wooden fence. You can use a plug for wall attachment.
Won’t I damage the tree when I hammer the bird in?
You’ll only be making a tiny hole because of the sharp point. It won’t harm the tree. We do advise you to wait till summer with young trees – the sap will not be running that fast through the trees then.
What material is used to make the Metalbird?
The Metalbird is made of cortenstaal, a type of metal that develops a thin corroded layer influenced by weather. The corroded layer gives the bird a beautiful rust-brown colour and protects it against further corrosion as well.
Is it normal for the bird to corrode?
Yes it is. Metalbirds are made of cortenstaal, a qualitatively high-grade metal type that forms a thin corroded layer influenced by the weather. This layer gives the bird its beautiful rusty-brown colour which is what is supposed to happen. The layer also protects against further corrosion which means that the bird will keep its beautiful corroded layer for its entire lifetime.
What can I do to prevent the Metalbird from corroding?
The Metalbird is made of cortenstaal, a material that forms a protective corroded layer influenced by the air outside. That is how the Metalbird gets its beautiful rusty-brown colour. You can treat the Metalbird with oxaan oil if you don’t like the Metalbirds’ corroded look. This oil will protect the bird from weather influences.
How is the metalbird shipped?
The metalbirds come in a nice sturdy box which has a nice gift-wrap appearance. A protective cove is put on the bird’s sharp point. A plastic shipment bag with the address sticker is adhered to the box. The shipment is compatible with the size of your mailbox so you needn’t stay at home for it.
The Metalbird I received is damaged. What to do?
This rarely happens because the material is really sturdy. If something is wrong though, please take a picture of it and contact us.
